This article explores the major stages in the activity of Head of His Imperial Majesty's Own Chancery A.S. Taneyev (1850-1918). Based on materials provided by the Central State Historical Archive and the State Archive of the Russian Federation, the author traces the expansion of his influence and examines the activity of his daughter Anna Vyrubova. A.S. Taneyev is shown as a key figure in the court group of influence during the reign of Nikolay II. G. Rasputin is viewed as a subordinate figure in this group of courtiers, which formed also due to the isolation of the imperial family during the time of the last emperorship.

The mortgage contracts engraved on the bronze plaques found in the Italian region Veleia and called Tabula «Veleia» are in the focus of investigation of the present paper. These are the agreements between authorities of the Imperial alimentary fund in Gallia Cispadana and Liguria and land owners of Veleia, Placentia, Luca, Parma and Libarna about granting loans on land lending. Money got on interest payments were directed towards orphans and poor parents free-born children support till their adulthood. Tabula «Veleia» contains 52 loan contracts, 15 of which are translated into Russian in full, others are given in brief. The structure and content of these mortgages are determined and some mistakes in calculations are found in the documents and some publications. The land domain size the square of which ranges from some dozens jugerum till more than 1000 jugerum is analyzed. The attention is also paid to the owners’ estates consisted of separate manors the square of which ranged within considerable limits (from 2 till 490 jugerum) and their names are studied. It is determined that the manors’ names which end with «anus» belonged to the Roman names, others – to the Celt-Ligurian. Tabula «Veleia» allows becoming more familiar with finance and credit documents and the conclusions made on the basis of its analysis promote the deep insight in the social-economic relations of Ancient Rome.

The turn to the cultural-anthropological dimension of the past leads to re-evaluation of the significance of literature as a historical source. The article brings to light the potential of lyric poetry for the study of the emotions of the man of the 1930s and the history of the Soviet everyday. The work analyzes the verses of young poets (P. Kogan, N. Mayorov, and N. Ovsyannikov), which can be treated as “declarations of emotional independence”. In them, the authors declaim against hypocrisy and asexuality, which were being cultivated in Soviet society, and advocate for freedom of expressing emotions – above all, love feelings.

Abstract:
According to the study, unrealistic assumptions on better economic results generated especially through the fast transformation of collective farming (JRD) into higher forms of production were one of the main reasons behind the failure to fulfill targets in agriculture in Slovakia during 1951 and 1952. Though these forms achieved higher profitability compared to private farmers, they lacked the production condition needed to substitute a private sector.
